The Birds/ghost rider

The Birds V.S. The Ghost Rider

-The Birds is a 1963 suspense/horror film directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

-Ghost Rider is a 2007 American supernatural superhero film written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson.

The  Ghost Rider was produced in 2007. This means that the producers were able to utilize today’s special effects. Computer Generated Imagery was totally obvious while viewing The Ghost Rider because it made things possible that would be otherwise impossible in reality. For example, many times Nicholas Cage would be on his motorcycle and would ride up buildings, or ride through fire. In order for this to happen the producers had to use CGI.Some of the other effects used were the use of a wide lens and high quality film. The film crew used top-notch equipment in order to make this a high definition movie. Most likely most of the audio was recorded off set because there are usually too many noises when filming in urban environments. Furthermore the on-set audio recording usually does not have the best quality. However, some of the audio dialog could have very well been recorded on set. All the sound effects were recorded off set and implanted into the film.

While The Birds was filmed in 1963, thus not having modern computer effects to use in the movie. Since The Birds is an older movie, the producers were forced to use what we would call “old fashion techniques”. Some of the notable effects used were Mechanical birds. They also used a blue screen while filming the birds to give it the literal effect of a sky being in the background. They also used optical effects, such as a colored lens to make it seem like it was dawn/dusk. The Sound Effects used in The Birds were obviously recorded off set and then implanted and synced with the movie.
The sound recording crew must have recorded the sounds of (Motorcycles, breaking glass, people screaming, and the actors lines). The sound effects in The Birds were pretty good considering that it was made over 35 years ago.
-       It was evident that all sounds were recorded off the set
