The Blue Sqaures
The Blue Squares piece of art. This is a piece of art in which the viewer must be there in order to get the full experience of the the art. The blue neon lights completely altered my viewing of the art work. Being there looking at this art, i noticed it could be viewed from many different angles. When I looked at it from one end of the room, I could see the repetition and the pattern the artist created. It was like being in the ocean with you eye on the water line. I just kept seeing the same thing, in perfect symmetry. Another angle in which i was analyzing the art was front a frontal view. I really enjoyed looking at the art this way because it sort of made it a mystery as to what was behind the blue squares. Since the squares were layer out on an angle, they were not perfectly facing me, so it made the window to look through smaller. My favorite part about this is when I looked at a picture i took ok it, and looked at it sideways. This makes it seem like one side it really small, and the part coming toward me is getting bigger. It gives it a really cool visual effect of the side at the other end being very small and the part closest to me being big. In addition, i also felt like i was part of the art when i was standing there because it changed the way i saw everything. It even changed the colors i am used to seeing. It basically eliminated the warm colors from the room and completely messed with my vision. This was a great experience!
